On December 2, 1956 Fidel Castro and his brother sailed into Cuba with about eighty men ready for combat, however they fell to defeat. In retreat they found themselves in the Cuban jungle gathered more troops through propaganda. Their army then turned into an army of thousands, afterwards then went into war for three years. The war found its way into towns and mountains even communication centers. The people of Cuba only supported Fidel Castro’s ways because they believed that he would be able to change the government and create better living for them.
While many may believe that all war does is create problems in the end it sometimes solves problems. For example, at the end of this war Cuba achieved advances in health and education. However they reached that through many unfortunate exiles, realizing how dangerous Castro was the US attempted many times to take him out of power. Many Cubans who were not pleased with the way Fidel ran things fled to the US, Florida to be exact. About 36% of Cubans live in Florida, many left seeking better economic and political conditions. Life and work was just getting worse and worse by the years. Fidel exiled and killed those who went against him, this became so much for Cubans to handle so the US helped them plan an overthrow of the Cuban government. This invasion would be called the Bay of Pigs sadly this invasion failed few days later.

These two images is a source of propaganda used in the US where they talked about what was happening in Cuba with Fidel Castro now taking over. It informed civilians in the US of the Cuban revolution and the new face of communism and danger. As you can see one is used in a famous times magazine which reached the older audience the parents, business men and women, and any other audience that reads the times. The second source is a comic book drawing which wasn't really used to inform the children of the US of the crisis, but to show Fidel Castro and communism as the new villains. along with comics of communist "terrorist" movies were made showing all of communism's flaws and the flaws of those who led communism in countries. The US made it a big part of their job to spread the kind of disaster communist rule was by exploiting all the horrible things that have happened under the rule of communism and the way the leaders treated those who opposed them giving no freedom.
